The flyover at Super Bowl 52 is going to be unique. Here’s why.

... Besides this being the first time the Heritage Team has done this at the Super Bowl, there’s an interesting mix of aircraft flying over U.S. Bank Stadium.

There are four planes representing three generations of aircraft for the flyover: one F-16, two A-10s and a P-51 (more about the planes themselves below). They’ll be flying in a diamond formation with the P-51 out in front, the two A-10s even with each other on the side and the F-16 bringing up the rear.

“It’s a really unique formation to take a look at, because you never really get to see those vintage aircraft flying with modern fighters,” Levy said.

“The heritage formation is unique. It’s usually just four modern day fighters that are all similar operating a similar speeds and used to doing a flyover together,” Maj. John Waters, the F-16 pilot, said.

“It’s a sign of strength and unity and the sacrifices that have been made. And the cool factor is off the chart. It’s a very special event,” Hinton said.

New stadiums get SBs, even if they’re in cold weather cities. Won’t be another cold weather SB for at least five years.

Unique as the NFL doesn't like those flying over or the country?

It was 9 degrees below zero when I drove by the stadium this morning. I will watch the planes from the cafeteria windows on the eighth floor at the hospital two miles away. I won’t be watching the sportsball match.

Too bad that many of the Obamabot scum, low life and vermin that hate America have never heard of the WWII, African-American piloted P51 “Red Tail” Mustangs that flew so bravely, honorably and with great sacrifice, first in China and then in the European Theater protecting American B17 bombing missions. Many B17 crew members owe their lives to these proud “Black American” pilots and their great ground crews, that savaged the attacking German Luftwaffe fighters with their flying skills and great courage. Sad...that these NFL anti-American, traitors worship their useless, American Hater, Barack Hussein Obama!!! case closed.

How great would it be to have one B-52 fly over?

No need. Flaps do the trick ;-)

A-10 and P-51D share a cruising speed of 300 KIAS

Heritage flights of this nature go on at most every airshow.

15 MOH recipients led by Woody Williams(94ys old-Iwo Jima) will do coin toss around 5:30 local time. Worth a look.

I'll be interested to see at what speed that lead P-51 will be moving at. It will have to be slow enough so everyone gets a good look but fast enough to keep the F-16 in the air (180 knots or so).

The A-10s won't have a problem since they don't have airspeed indicators. They have calendars in the cockpit.
Or so an A-10 driver told me one time.

And the A-10 doesn’t have a clock in the cockpit like all other aircraft, they have a calendar. . .and the only reason A-10’s are not in the Navy is because the engineers couldn’t figure out how to mount the tail-hook backwards. . .and the A-10 is so slow it takes bird-strikes from the rear.

(I’ve heard them all. . being an ol’A-10 fighter pilot that I am. Sadly, it is the last of the manly jets. . .made for men.)

The FNFL is really going all out to hide behind the very same military that they have been so disrespect of for a very long time. I really hope that nobody falls for this bullshit and tunes in. I will not.
