A good gun ... But the Glock 17 is still #1 in my book.
Actually, I think an ambi safety is a great idea for a 1911.
Comes standard on Kimber 1911s.
We have 2.
L
Because a hammer fired weapon, with the hammer down, will always be less likely to discharge with chambered round. Sig P226, P229, etc.
The Army is paying $207.00 for each pistol.
Is that so? That explains the problem then.
OK.
I found a BlackHawk 1911 holster that fits my 1911 with the ambi holster installed.
That Blackhawk kydex hoslter works good and even fits on an LBE belt and regular pants belts.
The funny thing is, Im only left handed when Im shooting. Left eye Dominant. Everything else is right handed.
It is odd.
.
I am left sided dominant when I use an axe At all other times I am strong right handed dominant.
Yeah. Strange stuff. I’m sure there’s others out there like us.
Interesting. Every SIG I have owned has been 100% reliable right out of the box. That includes a P220 and stainless 1911 in .38 Super, which can be a real problem child of a cartridge. Both will shoot a mixture of brands, in both hollow point and ball. The P220 I tried with 4 different brands of ammo and bullet design in the same magazine at the same time. Zero failures.
I have had exactly one malfunction with a SIG and I would guess I have owned maybe a dozen or more.
That one was with a P225 and a 90 grain PMC JHP. I think it was a combination of a poorly designed bullet and the single stack mag. The P-226 fed them fine.
That one cartridge did a nosedive into the feed ramp. Ever since that, I have wondered if double stack mags are more reliable.
I have an old Argentine Hi-Power which has fired every odd thing I have found and never missed except for one awful USA mag which I threw away. With any other mag it has been perfect.
.
WE have both Glocks and Sigs.
The Sigs are over all the better of the two brands.
This has to be bottom feeding politics!

AMEN!
Something fishy is going on here.
Well one thing to consider is that we’re experienced creaky old gun guys, and these are being used by 18-19 year old soldiers, who are really good at breaking things.
