Rosenstein Asked Trump to Obstruct Nunes Investigation, Trump Refused
The Idiots at CNN ^ | 1/31/2018 | Pamela Brown, Evan Perez and Laura Jarrett,

...Rosenstein made his pitch in the December [2017] meeting with the President, asking for White House backing as the Justice Department sought to deny access to sensitive documents demanded by Nunes, who has spent months pursuing claims of surveillance abuses by the FBI and the Justice Department against the Trump campaign.

There was no decision by the President at the meeting, the sources told CNN.

White House chief of staff John Kelly later notified the Justice Department that the President would not help block access to the documents.

Talk about burying the lead.

The idiots at CNN are pushing a story tonight, obviously leaked by Rosenstein, that claims that "Trump asked Rosenstein if he was 'on my team'" with regards to the Mueller investigation.

Since Rosenstein is a political appointee of the President's, this is an entirely appropriate question to ask, especially since Rosy seems more beholden to the swamp than to Trump. The story is a "nothingburger," except:

Buried at the very end of the story is a revelation that Rosy asked Trump to stymie the Nunes subpoenas for DOJ documents showing DOJ abuses. Rosy was asking Trump to obstruct lawful subpoenas from Congress on behalf of deep state criminals working against Trump!

No wonder Trump asked this evil actor whose side he was on.

Unbelievable.

Well, duh! He was hoping Trump would say “Yes” - at which point he would have revealed he was wearing a wire, and tell Trump he was guilty of obstruction of justice, an impeachable offense.

It's even better, Rosenstein, or someone linked to him, leaked this evidence of his own malfeasance to CNN, who thought they were doing him a favor and hurting Trump by pushing the story.

Talk about being hoisted by your own petard.

This evil slimeball deserves everything he gets.

Press Releases: (Not a MMS release! A real press release!)

Nunes Statement on FBI, DOJ Objections to Release of HPSCI Memo!

Washington, January 31, 2018:

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes issued the following statement today:

“Having stonewalled Congress’ demands for information for nearly a year, it’s no surprise to see the FBI and DOJ issue spurious objections to allowing the American people to see information related to surveillance abuses at these agencies. The FBI is intimately familiar with ‘material omissions’ with respect to their presentations to both Congress and the courts, and they are welcome to make public, to the greatest extent possible, all the information they have on these abuses. Regardless, it’s clear that top officials used unverified information in a court document to fuel a counter-intelligence investigation during an American political campaign. Once the truth gets out, we can begin taking steps to ensure our intelligence agencies and courts are never misused like this again.”

If Rosenstein is in the tank for the deep state then what happened was an attempted setup for obstruction of Justice for Trump.

They probably expected Trump to come up with a quid pro quo agreement the subpoenaed information vs. softening of Mueller probe.

PDJT do not meet with any of these snakes without your own confidant being present.

‘He was hoping Trump would say “Yes” - at which point he would have revealed he was wearing a wire, and tell Trump he was guilty of obstruction of justice, an impeachable offense.’

I bet you’re right about this. They did something loosely similar [not illegal, but a smear] to Priebus, iirc.

Have always said, Rosenstein recommending Comey’s firing, then immediately appointing Comey’s friend Mueller to investigate the firing, was highly suspicious. I think all this was done in a panic to cover up their own wrongdoing.

Rosenstein should be asking Trump for a chance to quit rather than be fired. Else a pardon to cough up details on what he and his colleagues have been up to.
