So we are very probably looking at a global recession, with no end in sight, noted political hack posing as an economist, Paul Krugman, concluded in The New York Times the day after Trumps election last November. I suppose we could get very lucky somehow. But on economics, as on everything else, a terrible thing has just happened.
This is just one of many examples of fake news and overhyped hyperbole in the age of President Donald J. Trump. As jobs continue to be added at encouraging rates and the stock market continues its extended run, Krugman was dead wrong by far. At least, so far. While forecasting the economic future is far from an easy thing to do, political pundits populating the mainstream media have constantly downplayed the economic successes achieved under the Trump administration to this point, falling ill to Trump Derangement Syndrome, jumping from failed narrative to failed narrative about why this president we have today is illegitimate or dangerous.

Economists and meteorologists are the only two professions that can be consistently wrong and still remain employed.
Krugman is a mental case. So is who ever it is who signs his checks.
Krugman is probably the lest deserving of the stature he seems to have. He’s just a nasty little punk who is wrong about everything.
