The Navy’s in worse shape than the army.

The Germans gave the Royal Navy quite a run for it’s money in two world wars.

For its size (small by European standards) the British army was the best on earth. Very few could stand up to the firepower they were able to maintain with their Brown Bess muskets and discipline. It is one of the things that make our victories at Saratoga, Yorktown, and New Orleans so remarkable.
