Posted on 01/03/2018 5:21:10 AM PST by ReformedMedia
There are several items that Americans should keep their eyes on in 2018, and they each have to do with the rights of gun owners.
Awr Hawkins of Breitbart News listed four things that were begun in 2017 but failed to succeed. I'll list them and comment on each one.
Well, yeah, it sounds good to those who are used to asking the government permission to enjoy and exercise a God-given right protected under the Second Amendment, but that's just it, isn't it? Isn't national reciprocity embedded in the Second Amendment?
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Now, consider that the Second Amendment does not state a limitation on whether you carry open or concealed or have a rifle slung across your back. It says that right "shall not be infringed." It shouldn't be infringed by government for money, taking classes, jumping through hoops, background checks or anything else.

Ha! Yes, go to another page that didn’t give you half of what I did and then....wait for it... excerpts to the story... you two are such hypocrites.
Least he’s not serving up the full steaming pile of Joe Scarborough this morning, like the other click-baiter is.
I think that other one has a crush on ol’ Joe, true story.
Agree that the 2nd Ammendment is in itself national reprocity. However, sometimes ya gotta take what you can get. Let’s not get hung up on the theoretical. Let’s eat the apple one bite at a time. Pass national reprocity and allow our good citizens to get used to that. Then, take another bite....
You're just Timmy.
There's a difference.
The theoretical? It either is or is not our right. That’s not theory, and this is the problem in the conservative movements, they act like progressives when it comes to their rights. If a guy comes in your house and steals your stuff, you don’t go, “Hey, I can’t tell you to give me all my stuff back, I have to ask for it one piece at a time.” Nowhere else does that sort of mentality receive any attention except in politics where instead of bringing justice on the criminals that infringe on our rights, we plead with them to give us some of them back a bit at a time like a little child. No wonder we’re in the mess we’re in.
Just wondering why you didn’t share your sage wisdom with us on the existing thread, you being such a great contributor to the discussion of FR.
As for hypocrisy, are you begrudging Breitbart their ad-click revenue? Aren’t they part of that New Media? I thought all you guys worshiped at the feet of St Andrew.
Actually, I have press credentials:)
Nope, pointing out you guys hypocrisy for going after people who simply used the button available on FR to excerpt, and then you link to a post that had two lines and a link. That’s being hypocritical.
From the dry cleaning place, no doubt.
They both had all the law school, top societies, lots of rubbing shoulders with the important types, and look where it got ‘em: failing from job to job, three crappy marriages, screw-up kids, one dead intern...and a blog.
It’s a shame that the blogpimping removes from the core message here:
I’ve been saying this for a long time. The US Government is derelict in it’s duties. The 2nd amendment is not a state issue - it’s the US Constitution. It’s not up to states to change it or agree or disagree in any way.
We’re being cheated as Americans and we know who is responsible for it.
Actually, I put that right in the middle of the post above: “Isn’t national reciprocity embedded in the Second Amendment?”
While the concept is correct, it ignores that national reciprocity would be a step in the right direction. Rights are whittled away one shaving at a time and in today’s crazy world, that’s how most of them will be restored.
Nice article. Thanks for posting. I agree that gun laws are unconstitutional. OTOH, until we get a sane Supreme Court our best bet is to continue making incremental gains in the legilatures and in Congress.
May Ruth Zombie Ginsburg soon see the light and retire.
Really? So does this guy -
Yeah ... let’s only post content from responsible news organizations like the Washington comPost and See-BS News.
