The domestically-produced version of the Russian Vityaz submachine gun in 9mm is not only a head-turner but another "gotta have that gun".
Florida-based Kalashnikov USA announced it will have the KR-9 9mm platform available along with the KUSA 9mm pistol.
In some of the recent trade shows the KR-9 carbine with its short barrel rifle has been on displayed.
Larry Vicker of Vickers Tactical had a chance to play with KR-9.
As a matter of fact he has a fun-button enabled on it.
This closed-bolt functions on a blowback, runs 700-750 rounds-per-minute on full-auto. Very light and durable.

Why make a pistol a rifle. I’ll stick with the .308.
The Hughes amendment needs to go away. It does nothing but make full auto unattainable by the average shooting enthusiast. I wouldn’t necessarily buy full auto, but it would be nice if the option was there (I like 3 round burst myself).
At 700-750 rounds per minute, that 30 round magazine runs out of ammo in about two and a half seconds.
***The Hughes amendment***
The Hughes amendment was a “poison pill” added to the Firearm Owners Protection Act by the Democrats to kill the bill. It did not work as all it did was make new manufactured machine guns illegal while the more onerous parts of the horrid 1968 Gun Control Law were removed.
I still remember pre-1968 when LIBERTY was abroad in the USA.
Even with ammo prices down, it's too expensive to feed the beast!

Garbage. The point of packing 9mm vs 5.45x39 is to have more compact weapon.
So why I would carry 9mm AK instead of a real thing?
The thing is a clone of a Russian PP Vityaz which was marketed for law-enfoncement to replace standard shortened AKs using ‘over-penetration’ of AKSU narrative to push for this one. It failed to become popular because there are more fitting and compact pieces on market. Then they made semi-auto conversion for civilians named Saiga-9 and priced at slightly under 50 thousand rubles which for reference would buy you some 7 mint SKSs and a truckload of ammo in Russia. No takers again which is not surprising.
Yep. At one our Sunday afternoon shoots, the guy with the Class III said,
"Yeah -- full auto is fun -- IF you enjoy spending Mon-Fri reloading ammo, and all of Saturday stuffing magazines -- just for 15 minutes of kicks on Sunday!"
