Veteran Owned Gun Shop Needs Your Help Thieves Break In & Steal More Than 30 Guns!
Guns in the News ^ | 01-01-2018 | Tim Brown

On Christmas morning, instead of remembering the One who came to save sinners from sin, three thugs decided to engage in the sin and crime of stealing from a veteran-owned gun store.

A criminal threesome broke into veteran-owned Double Tap Tactical early Christmas morning and proceeded to smash glass tops to steal 30 guns in under a minute.

They were captured on surveillance video and their pictures were posted to Double Tap Tactical's website in hopes that there will be someone who can identify these criminals.

The guns were valued at over $20,000.

Fox 17 reports:

The thieves got away with 25 semi-automatic pistols, three revolvers and three rifles, all with brand names such as Glock, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Walther, Taurus, Sig-Sauer, and several others.

“At this point now we’re trying to figure out who did this and where our guns are at,” said Ron Berger, store owner.

Berger is a military veteran who served in Iraq with the U.S. Army. He transitioned to civilian life, has a wife and three kids, and has owned Double Tap Tactical for five years.

Berger had recently relocated his store and has not yet been insured.

No insurance. No security gates. Did he learn anything in the military?

At least it wasn’t a boating accident.

Not for nuthin, but one of the rules for most gun stores is that guns in the glass case are not secure.

Most gun stores I know, put all of the guns in the safe at night.

These guys should be easy to identify. Good video. Dumb store owner for not having a more secure location. Surprised the Feds let him/her operate.

Stupid.

All of the guns stores around here empty the showcases every night and put the weapons in safes.

Agree. I am tired of seeing this scene. Gun shop owners should be required to make their places more secure — burgular bars, security gates, etc. We’re all less safe because gun shop burgularies are too common.

"We’re all less safe because gun shop burgularies are too common."

I wonder if the store owner will face legal liability in the case where one of these guns is used in a murder or crime?

That’s my take-away from this as well. This irresponsible owner doesn’t need help to replace his stolen guns. He needs help to find another line of work.

Tactical Edge at 1925 Ft. Campbell Blvd. was also burglarized in June of this year. The suspects stole 45 firearms.

Much better reporting here along with video of the entire crime.

I hope not. My problem is that some gun shops are not as secure as they should be. Don’t give ammo to the nuts opposing the 2nd amendment. And don’t let these guns get in the hands of thugs.

Looked pretty well planned.

They were well covered up, in and out in under a minute.

There is no way that this gun shop was not insured. It appears to be a sizable operation with a pretty big inventory.

Bad habit in the gunstore community. No insurance is the ULTIMATE boneheaded maneuver. I had a gunshop and always had insurance. Always. My guns, vehicles and other merchandise were insured even when going to and at gunshows.
I believe in the free market and this dumbass failed business 101. Lesson learned. He should go work for someone else because he’s not fit to own a business.
