LBJ and the Great Society! There’s your answer for the breakdown of the black family and their economic plight today.
Not entirely. It certainly accelerated things but I think that the rise of angry race radicalism under Cultural Marxist influence in a decade of increased sexual bondage that has been called “liberation” was the necessary acid.
On one level you can’t give yourself over to feelings of bitterness, pride and entitlement and expect to find many that are willing to work things through.
On another level you can’t expect folks to continue to value what has become cheap in the same way before it became cheap, when they looked down on people of loose morals. At least not in the same way.
Then there’s things like that it was a decade where commitment and fidelity weren’t high on many people’s lists anyway. The 60s and 70s, at least among those who most participated in their excesses, seems like they were survived (if later escaped).
Thats assuming someone escapes them rather than subsides into their influence.
