He probably gets more of a pension if he resigns after January 3rd...if he resigns at all.

The replacement for Al Gropen, er, Franken has already been named, and is even now preparing for move the Washington.
Minnesota Lt. Gov. Tina Smith has been appointed to fill the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by Al Gropen’s, er, Franken’s upcoming resignation. As you can see, Minnesota has already moved on in regards to whom they want to represent them in the US Senate.
The ‘Ethics Committee’ should investigate how Franken won his seat in the first place.

He’ll still be there this time next year. I said that from the start. I’ve never seen anyone resign in the next couple of months.
