At least four senators are urging Al Franken to reconsider resigning, including two who issued statements calling for the resignation two weeks ago and said they now feel remorse over what they feel was a rush to judgment.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who urged Franken not to step down to begin with — at least not before he went through an Ethics Committee investigation — said the Minnesota senator was railroaded by fellow Democrats.

Frankin never had any intention of resigning. Just put on another BS comedy act until the heat cooled down. What a despicable turd.

And Hillary......she lambasted women who dared accuse her husband....but only b/c it threatened her political ambitions.

The Clinton are nothing but parasites.

Bill knew the women were telling the truth but he let Hillary confiscate our tax dollars to setup her Bimbo Eruption Team that operated against Willy’s women for eight years......on our dime.

As much as I dislike Franken, he should not resign. He should set an example about due process and the rule of law.

The Media witch hunts should not have a veto on Senators or any elected office.

This is ridiculous.

Here we have PICTURES of his sexually inappropriate behavior and it’s being glossed over by the dems.

The mere accusation of a Republican of anything that even smacks of impropriety, the guy is tarred and feathered and run out of town.

The hypocrisy is just mind blowing.

Surprise surprise surprise

It was all a SNL head-fake.

Al Franken just groped the nation.

Any criticism of any Republican should have rung hollow after Kennedy and Clinton.

Enough is enough already.

Who didn’t know this was going to happen? Of course it was. That’s why his speech wasn’t a resignation speech.

Right on cue. A lot of people saw this one coming. Senatorial power and prestige are too sweet to give up lightly. (Just ask Ted Kennedy and John McCain.) That’s why Franken issued his non-apologies and non-resignation. His speech was a sham and folks knew it when he gave it.

The 4 senators who think this is OK should resign along with Franken.

Agreed. Our slow but deliberate justice system also serves to shed emotion and cyclical fluctuations in hype and agenda from driving application of laws and ethics. It also lets the smell hang and linger on when it comes to the really bad players. That stays with the public.

Franken would be challenged in the Dem primary and lose. He is a dead man walking. The governor of MN has already announced that a woman, the Lt Gov, will be his replacement. She used to work for Planned Parenthood among other things.

"Next election cycle, it would take a truly incompetent Republican to lose against Franken."

No problem. They'll find one...

I wish that were so. Politicians count on their constituents having short memories and shorter attention-spans.

The reason for the double-standard is that the Republican ‘leadership” always eats their own. Their are a cesspool of degenerates but like the nobility in England, the GOP likes the pretence of being holier than thou. The Dems can have a rapist in the White House, but the GOP turns on a Senate candidate over 40 year old allegations that are discredited. The ultimate hypocrites are in the GOPe.
