I had a talk with my 16 year old son about Islam. I hated having to preface everything I said with, “Now, I’m not racist, nor do I want you to blindly hate a group, race, creed, etc..” but couldn’t explain my opposition to being taught the Shahada in high school without sounding like I was trying to indoctrinate him. I hate Illinois department of education for putting me and other parents in that position..
