I have a video of Song of the South. Thst would be verboten these days. I also have a complete set of DVDs of “The Amos and Andy Show”. With the stereotypes that are on display in those episodes, the snowflakes would have a total meltdown.
Yes, Amos n Andy. Every Black person I know would bust out in hysterical laughter just mentioning that show. There was a very good documentary. Amos and Andy. Anatomy of a Controversy, narrated by George Kirby. In it he interviewed Jesse Jackson. Surpirisingly, Jackson really didn’t see anything wrong with the show because it reminded him of some of the people he grew up around in Chicago, and that show opened doors for many other Black entertainers. One of Jackie Gleason’s last TV appearances, on the Today Show he said he got the inspiration for The Honeymooners from that show.
