While many human workers fear that they will ultimately be replaced by artificial intelligence (AI), it's more likely that our current workforce will shift into new types of roles for people, according to a new report from professional services company Cognizant.

"In the future, work will change but won't go away," the report stated. "Work will continue to be core to our identities, our nature, our dreams and our realities. But it won't necessarily be the work we know or do now."

Work has always changed as technology advances, the report noted, with positions such as switchboard operators, lamplighters, and town criers eventually giving way to new jobs. Plus, many people are currently employed in jobs that are dull, dirty, or dangerous, and technology could potentially liberate them to do more fulfilling and lucrative work....

Notice how the ‘Ethical Sourcing Officer’ only takes customers and employees standards into account. Nothing about investors.. Or upper management for that matter.

Genetic diversity officer

“Beyond racial or gender diversity, a genetic diversity officer would work closely with business unit heads to ensure genetic inclusion within an organization.”

What absolute horseshit.

I hate war, crises, famine, disasters, etc., but when I read drivel such as this there are times when I pray God would bring us to our knees and make us reprioritize on what’s truly important.

Sounds like “Logans Run” you get everything except your 30th Birthday.
(Obamacare has similarities as well)

The Second Amendment. Because some jackasses in government think this would be a good idea:

It appears we need to go back to having all of those little boxes we got rid of over the last few years due to law suits, or how could you make the “right” decision.

Color
Race
Religion
Sex
Age
“Partner” status

I'm convinced management just likes using the "newest, bestest" labels for their employees, to make them feel like their departments are on the leading edge. My team has just been split up. There are 6 of us, we don't actually have a manager right now (we had an excellent manager, who quit in frustration after a stellar data center move, but when the HQ move was coming up, upper management refused to listen to him - He quit in order to not be blamed for the potential disaster that was looming.) So upper management has split us up - I'm a network/server/troubleshooting guy, and they've put me with a bunch of help-desk people. While the rest of the infrastructure team is now under a developer as their team leader.

I honestly have no idea what my "new" job will be, but in the mean time, I've got several months of critical project work that must be completed, but I'm no longer seated anywhere near the other guys who I used to bounce ideas off of. And they're being actively discouraged from using me as a team member, since I'm now working under a different cost center.

Tech Republic occasionally has some good information. But most of the time, it drags my web browser to a crawl.

Ya. They need to lighten the videos and general presentation (the code and media) so that it doesn’t lock up a browser while my browser chokes on it.

They achieve neither — my eyes viewing their adverts and a happy potential customer.
