In all the thirty something years I got to spend with my Roman Catholic Italian grandmother I cannot recall her serving fish EVER.

My family always had pasta with a red sauce that had lobster, clams,mussels, shrimp and calamari. Christmas Eve was always a no meat supper at my grandparents house. Christmas day we would have roast beef, pork Crown roast and a ham. I believe Christmas Eve was treated like a Good Friday.
