First of all, no one predicted the results in Virginia (especially the HoD). Secondly the analysis is ongoing and will continue through January after the SBE releases the data. Thirdly look at the HoD races and the issue(s).

The Dems copied their 2013 strategy of running HoD Rep (against mostly GoPe) candidates. This time they had more of them, in some cases better candidates, a lot more money, and better issues. The winner was health care. The Republicans stopped expansion. Look at at the turnout in the challenged HoD races and how that juiced the Commonwealth wide races.

This election was not about President Trump. It was a very good Dem HoD strategy with excess monies, health care, rejection of GoPe, and demographic shifts - and a few more. Anyone who says it was a referendum on our President is knee-jerking and has not studied the event.

Yes.
The heart of the Dem success in Virginia was the failure of DC Republicans to pass an alternative to expanded Medicaid.
And that will be repeated in every non-expansion state in 2018!
