It circumvents FEC rules on contributions, and smacks of both money laundering as well as a fraud on the Democratic Party.

You are so right. What people aren’t getting is that you can give the DNC as much money as you want. But you can only give a certain amount to a candidate. But if the DNC is supporting one candidate in a primary or acting under the control of one candidate, that is totally and blatantly illegal. This crime has been brought against republicans several times. Remember the Wisconsin special prosecutors against Governor Scott Walker. No doubt, this is a crime.
