Just the opposite. A purge is from the top down. This is from the bottom up. It’s a revolution.
Unfortunately the only thing worse than fat, corrupt socialists is ideologically pure socialists.
This year I’ve been reading about various revolutions.
One takeaway: other than the American Revolution, most are marked by those who start the revolt being murdered by a new wave of revolutionaries who considered the first group not revolutionary _enough_; this cycles several times before culminating in the “freedom/liberty/equality” advocates slaughtering everyone who doesn’t strictly adhere to one leader’s vision thereof (which is, of course, funded by confiscating the wealth of everyone else).
No surprise then that the Leftist leadership is being torn down from within.
Only surprise is that it’s not actually violent AFAIK.
Core lesson: those claiming “but socialism/communism has never really been tried” must be countered with “socialism/communism only works when others are compelled to comply, which only happens thru violence under tyrannical leadership.” Only reason American Leftists are so peaceful (relative to other Revolutions) is because their political opponents & would-be subjects are so heavily armed.
