Buckyball magnetic buckshot seemed like a good idea.
How would these spherical magnets do loaded in a shotgun shell?

Buckyball magnets are buckshot-sized magnets that happen to fit nicely into a 12-gauge shotgun shell. Would they stick together all the way to the target? Would they cause problems within the shotgun itself? Would they stick to metal targets after being firing into them?
This experimental shotgun load is quite an interesting concept. See the full magnetic buckshot from a shotgun video here.
Buckyball Bonsai!
And the unexpected part was?
Or you could just make a cut shell.
Very interesting! One of those things where the outcome would be hard to predict.
As they move down the steel barrel at high speed, these strong magnets will induce currents in the steel; by Lenz’s law, the magnetic fields that are generated by these induced currents will tend to resist the movement of the magnets. In effect, this will function as a viscous brake on the magnetic pellets, slowing them down and turning some of their kinetic energy into additional heating on the barrel.
I don’t know how serious this effect would be. Probably negligible, as the thickness of the barrel steel is probably not too great.
Put every other shell in backwards to eliminate the induced magnetism
Makes it easier to wemove the pellets when you make wabbit stew.
HINT: Use lead buckshot and some superglue to hold them together. They travel like a slug to the target, which if it is a hard target, breaks the buckshot apart, causing unpredictable, but copious damage.
Try it!
Buckshot is 9 pellets about .32 caliber size. That gif looks a lot bigger than 9.
Or you could just make a cut shell.

Two cuts or three ?
There is several sizes of buckshot. A 9 pellet load is most likely a 2 3/4 inch 12 gage load of OO buck.
