If you’re at all interested in this you should check out Mike Adams analysis of the recordings of the gunfire. He analysed the sound waves and detected in the acoustics (sound waves) a distinct sign wave of each gun shot (low amplitude) and the higher amplitude of the bullets hitting the ground.

He then looked at the time intervals based on Remmington .223 speed and found two distinct shooters: One at 400-450 yards (Mandalay Bay is in this range) and another at 200-250 yards. Very interesting:

And the FBI agent that is always behind the Sheriff is none other than John Podesta’s son in-law. At least that’s what I’ve heard from several sources. And he was there in the first press briefing, very soon after the shooting.

And what expertise in acoustics does mike Adams have?

I watched it. It was very impressive.

However I question his assumption of just. .223 55gr.

There were reports of an AR10 snd he could have had a mag or more of low grain high velocity personal defense ammo that may have been a reason for the difference between the frequencies.

his premise is wrong, i am almost positive the rounds were 62gr green tips, the rest is OK

Mike Adams analysis has some flaws.

First, He assumes that the shooter, and the supposed “second shooter” always used the same caliber rifle.

We know that isn’t true, because there were mixed brass on the floor of the mass killer’s suite.

That places severe doubt on his claim of a second shooter, because the time differential for .223 and 7.62X39 at distance is much different. Time of flight for a 7.62x39 at 450 yards is .85 seconds. That is about .3 seconds different than for a .223, or about what he sees in his “second shooter”.

Mike mentions that the time differential is different for different calibers. He simply ignores that the mass killer used more than one caliber.

A really good forensic analysis would differentiate weapons by the sound signatures of the shots. The cadences of shots are not as useful because it is doubtful that the bump stock would produce exactly the same cadence, shot to shot.

Mike says the shots of the “two shooters” are intermixed. It should be simple to show where two shooting signatures overlap, showing nearly double rates of fire. Mike does not show that, which indicates only one shooter shooting at a time, which is consistent with a shooter switching firearms.

A clear analysis of all the volleys of fire should clear that up quickly. Nice to see that. Someone should find a complete recording, end to end, of the entire 10 minutes of shooting. It is out there somewhere.

Mike does an interesting analysis, but it needs more work.

Another thing I did not see what the location of the recorder. Recorders at different locations will record different lags.

Acoustic analysis of the shooting may offer some insights. If you have multiple, known locations of sensors, extremely accurate timing of sensors, you can pinpoint shots with some accuracy. Echoes and other false positives are always a problem.

I saw the Mike Adams video, and IMHO, it isn’t very good at analysis.

Considering the event occurred in Vegas during a sound event, there should be some very good recordings at a know place with prior microphone testing to tune their systems.

The echos and frequency shifts which will happen in the reported event, are not easily analyzed based upon cell phone recordings. Microphones and placement is too eratic to draw firm decisions, BUT with enough of them, it might be possible to draw a fairly accurate reconstruction of events.

Some things might be discernible from them. Namely cyclic rate of fire, discerning and comparing time signatures of a auto weapon burst with an echo, from multiple sources and recordings might help to confirm or indicate a single source or multiple firing points. Mike’s analysis isn’t accurate enough to prove that.

There should be some sound engineers from Hollywood and Vegas with the audio tooklits to properly filter and analyze the shots, but I haven’t found them yet on the web, and worst of all, the law enforcement should be able to discuss some of these findings, if nothing else than to verify their credibility.

When they erase private cell phone recordings of the events, IMHO they are destroying evidence and should be charged with criminal activity.
