An NAIA school in Southwest Missouri has taken its support of the national anthem at sporting events to the next level.

Not only will athletes and coaches at College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Mo., stand at attention for the Star Spangled Banner, the opponent will as well.

Or the Bobcats won’t play.

The school calls it, “No pledge, No Play,” and school president Jerry C. Davis said he has no problem taking his ball and going home. The school has revised its contracts in competitions in all sports to reflect the pledge.

“We want to make it clear that we are not going to participate in a game where we think disrespect for the national anthem or the flag is being displayed,” Lewis told The Star. “I don’t think it’s a partisan issue. It’s an American issue, how we feel about our country.”

The pledge is a response to protests that started in 2016, with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick taking a knee during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial injustice. The anthem protests have picked up momentum this season in several forms.....

Friend of mine’s daughter just got admitted to College of the Ozarks and is thrilled. She will be able to get her degree without going into debt and gain experience in her chosen filed of EMT.

My daughter went their. Very conservative. Students only pay room and board, no tuition. Every student works an on campus job to earn their tuition.

College of the Ozarks has also added an impressive Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial to their campus. I’m told that they have sponsored trips to Vietnam for veterans who are accompanied by one or more COTO students as a history learning experience.

Grand daughter has a campus visit in two weeks. We’re looking forward to it even more now.

It’s a consistently conservative, patriotic school.
I don’t donate to any college currently, but I would be much more inclined to support this school instead of my very liberal alma mater in the area.

I have heard Newt Gingrich talk about this college. Every kid works at school. That is how they pay for tuition. Great idea.
