I remember how sickening and frightening that year was. Dubya doing nothing to fight the Democrats. No respectable Conservative was running for President, just a bunch of failed Governors and Senators, and the most unpopular of the latter gets the nod and then lets us all know he’s not only not going to make a serious run for President, he’s going to play Zero’s ringer instead.
It was in a lot of ways the year the Republican Party died.
