ROSWELL, GA -- The Georgia Department of Economic Development on Thursday announced that Kamstrup, a leading supplier of intelligent energy and water metering solutions, will create 52 jobs in the companys new North American headquarters in Roswell.
Headquartered in Skanderborg, Denmark, Kamstrup manufacturers high-tech solutions provider of water, district heat and electricity intelligent metering solutions for commercial and residential use. The company employs more than 1,200 people worldwide.
Georgia has become a magnet for international companies who are looking to expand their reach in North America, said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson. We are excited that Kamstrup has chosen Georgia - this announcement puts a spotlight on the continued strong relationship between Georgia and Denmark.
The new location in Roswell will serve as the companys North American headquarters.
By the rapidly growing sales in (the) USA and (the) need for a production plant in North America, Atlanta and Fulton County was the natural choice, said Kamstrup CEO Lars Bo Kristensen. We see an increasing need and interest for intelligent and accurate water metering solutions for the water utilities. But also the individual consumer has an increased focus on the usage, as the cost for clean water increases year by year.
GDEcD Director of International Investment Nico Wijnberg represented the Global Commerce division in partnership with the Danish Trade Commission in Atlanta, Roswell Inc., Metro Atlanta Chamber and Georgia Power (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Kamstrup is another great example on how well differentiated and advanced Danish technology faces a huge potential in the USA," said Danish Trade Commissioner Carsten Rosendahl. "Their new production facility in Georgia will form the perfect foundation for utilizing this moving forward."
Steve Stroud, executive director of Roswell Inc, the city's economic development arm, said the organization is "proud" to have the company locate its North American headquarters in Roswell.
Making the Devil’s Smart Meters, eh?
Google the name and it shows up as 1040 Crown Pointe Parkway Atlanta Ga 30338. That is a very exclusive location. It makes me wonder where they will move to.
Even it will just be a small number, its still more than what O did. Win...
30338 is Dunwoody, not Roswell. That’s probably a temporary office while they built the place in this story in Roswell.
I wonder if they realize that Neptune Technology Group is in their backyard (locations in Duluth and Tallassee, AL), and has a market share of 35%, having been in business for something like 120 years?
Correction, Duluth GA. Not MN.
I just came for the pastries
Smart meters.
Roswell road Sandy Springs ... a very upscale area either in Atlanta or bordering the big city. Lots of wealthy people.
Well obviously, that's why I said I wonder where they will move to.
I looked around a little, I couldnt find any place that identified the exact location of their new facility in Roswell. You could probably call or email Roswells economic development person and find out.
