Media's wistful longing for President Hillary is both sad and persistent

You'd think Hillary Clinton's fans in the news and entertainment industries would've moved on from the 2016 election by now. But you'd be wrong.

Many reporters, singers, anchors, actors, editors, and funnymen are still in mourning over the former secretary of state's second botched attempt at capturing the White House. Some are in greater pain than others, but even those who are trying to hide their grief show obvious signs they're not quite ready to concede she lost to a former reality TV host.

Late-night comedian Stephen Colbert, for example, embodied this sort of gloomy wistfulness this week when he interviewed Clinton on his show.

"She was first a first lady, then a senator, then secretary of state, and I would have bet anything the next President of the United States," Colbert said....

I would have bet anything the next President of the United States................................ So show us the money. After all she was such a success she had to be coronated. God showed his mercy this past election. He knew she wouldn’t qualify.

In a sense, a President Hillary would have been our Princess Diana: a woman of power, turning the power of compassion and focus of the media on things that matter most to us humans.

This HuffPo quotation is simply demented, but it is revealing. The hagiography surrounding the 0bama presidency, especially with regard to the execrable Michelle, was a product of fantasy reinforced by media fawning, an airy fiction with no connection to the real world, and the Dems thought they were living the dream when in fact they were only dreaming. The real world was the loser as a result.

Recall the 0bama "smartest guy in the room" gushing when in fact that pathetic poseur had never written anything more complicated and relevant than a grocery list? Recall a Nobel Prize awarded for nothing at all? Recall Michelle The Fashion Icon? The nutritionist? The expert gardener? Good God, and we mock the North Koreans for this stuff!

And, "us humans"? As if Trump supporters were something less (which they believe) and Hillary something transcendent (which they also believe)? Call this what it is: cult worship.

So the angst is apparently over nothing more than the closing of the Democrat pop-up fairy tale book. You just can't feel sorry for these people.
