All commercial freezers have obvious handles on the inside. Probable suicide.

Yep. Every walk-in freezer or refrigerator can be opened from the inside even if locked from the outside. Every freezer has an alarm bell than can be rung from the inside.

Additionally many times a pick-head axe is mounted to the inside of the freezer door as a last resort. They are just two very thin pieces of metal with foam in the middle. It does not take much to destabilize the door around the latch area to render it useless.
