Someone Made an Untraceable AR-15 ‘Ghost Gun’ In their Office
Am Shooting Journal ^ | 9/8/2017 | A Greenberg

Posted on 09/08/2017 8:02:52 AM PDT by w1n1

This is what some people call a ghost gun. It's an air 15 semiautomatic rifle that has no serial number. It’s untraceable. I didn't have to go through a background check or any sort of waiting period to get it.

The government has no knowledge of its existence in fact and that’s because legally speaking I didn’t buy this gun. I made it.

Anyone can buy every part of an F-15 on the Internet. There’s one part though that you can’t buy without a background check. And that is a functioning lower receiver. The body of the gun which you can buy is this. This is not a lower receiver although it looks like one to the government.

All you have to do is remove a few cavities of aluminum from this as you’re left with a true functioning gun for years DIY gun makers have been legally creating their own lower receivers to skirt gun control laws and builds untraceable weapons.

I wanted to see if new digital tools make building one of these ghost guns easier for someone like me with little firearms or power tools experience. If I can legally make a semi-automatic rifle and circumvent all gun control anyone can. So I tried making my air 15 lower receiver three different ways... Read and see rest of the ghost guns AR-15 video here.

Believe me if you are buying F-15 parts on the internet, the government knows about it.

Unless they’re stealth model parts. ;-) Then you may not even know you have them. Kinda like white privilege maybe?

I’ve always liked the F14s ... but I’m not gonna buy parts from Iran. ;)

“remove a few cavities of aluminum”

There are no cavities yet, they have to be milled.

Once you've built it out in your garage, the problem is finding a pilot for it. The government controls the supply of those!

I remember back when I built my first F-15, but I did it in the basement, only to figure out later it wouldn’t fit up the stairway or out the front door.

Yes. Just scoop them out. In your office. Easy peasy.

The government has no knowledge of its existence

Now they do. And it's kinda hard to hide an F-15.

Government still has all the tools it ever had. Stay clean. Be accountable to the people. Lock up or execute criminals. Investigate suspicious people and conspiracies. Keep known bad classes of people out of the country. Encourage good citizens to provide for their own security.

Horribly incompetent grammar and syntax is a badge of honor for this dude.

Maybe he thinks it is endearing, or something.

Air-15? What, does it run on air?

Wow...how did American Shooting Journal totally mangle the text into an unreadable mess in another language?

Read the Original Article at Wired.

How in the world did the author think he was going to transform a printed plastic lower receiver into a metal one? He showed the plastic product to professional gunsmiths and they wisely proclaimed it not safe.
