It seems that everyone looks at Dreamers as college kids working for a degree. That’s a small part of the category of now mostly adult [over 21] people who their country and parents dumped on us illegally years ago. Define the “Dreamers” accurately and much of the sobbing will go away.

What’s more, it looks like approximately half of those 800,000 had submitted fraudulent applications that should never have been approved:

“The United States is terminating the program”

A premature statement. Congress has six months to write their own DACA legislation. Which I expect they will. Meanwhile DACA remains in force, and if DACA legislation is passed within the six month period, I fully expect Trump will sign it, without argument.

The actual battle will be in Congress and it will be over how restrictive or expansive their DACA legislation is.

My extreme preference is that it is a standalone piece of legislation, and as restrictive as possible. We certainly don’t want it tied in with any “comprehensive” immigration legislation, where other compromises will be required just to pass it. Good chance that “comprehensive” immigration legislation cannot be passed in the House (my view). That would leave Trump back holding the bag on DACA.

At that point I would not be surprised to see Trump extend again Obama’s DACA rule, and again “demand” Congress act.

The United States is terminating the DACA program, which temporarily protects people brought to the U.S. illegally as children, or whose parents overstayed their visas.

This simple sentence describes what DACA really is.

how many teaching jobs have been set aside by Mexico for non-nationals? Or is it Mexico first, as usual?

If we were smart, we would get this news all over Facebook, Twitter, and Social Media. Also Conservatives in the Media and radio would mention this all the time. Who knows, maybe several ten thousand buy into this crap and move back South

I think they tried. The natives just ran away or died of European diseases. This happened in Spanish America before we even looked in that direction. I think when we started looking for free labor, slave trade from Africa was already up and running. Plus, Africans had no knowledge of the land and had no support when they did try to run. think this is how it went, but someone with more knowledge could shed more light on it.
