Significant number there, too. Throw in a few others (say Collins, Murkowski and Heller for example) and you’ve got enough to unite with the Senate Ds for a veto override majority.
Obviously that’s not relevant here, but thinking further down the road, if we start seeing a clear NeverTrump bloc of R Senators grow to 18 or more, that could mean a significant political power shift.
What most of these RINOs did was “vote conservatively” (wink-wink) against the debt limit raise and the CR.
Or at least they can claim that to their gullible voters: “Look, I’m more conservative than Trump!”
Hard to make much of any public votes by Senators, the system is set up to prevent that.
