President Donald Trump has decided to end the Obama-era program that grants work permits to undocumented immigrants who arrived in the country as children, according to two sources familiar with his thinking. Senior White House aides huddled Sunday afternoon to discuss the rollout of a decision likely to ignite a political firestorm and fulfill one of the presidents core campaign promises.
Trump has wrestled for months with whether to do away with the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, known as DACA. He has faced strong warnings from members of his own party not to scrap the program and struggled with his own misgivings about targeting minors for deportation.
Conversations with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who argued that Congress rather than the executive branch is responsible for writing immigration law, helped persuade the president to terminate the program, the two sources said, though White House aides caution that as with everything in the Trump White House nothing is set in stone until an official announcement has been made.

Did you read the article? It says the reason is to give Congress time to pass a substitute DACA bill.
Article is clear. Six-month delay allows Congress to create legislation. This is a gift to the RINOs.
Program winding down
Conservatives in the GOP have managed to block legislation because the DNC is against even the moderate bills the GOPe have written.
Ryan and McConnell (and McCain) will craft legislation that the DNC likes and even if the conservative balk (and they should) the GOPe will get the votes from the Dems.
And Trump will pass - otherwise he would’ve signaled his intent by NOT giving theb6 month grace period.
Mark my words - this will pass BEFORE any bill for Harvey relief in Texas gets passed.
Then you wake up and find out it is really happening, but they call it School.
“Neither the White House not a spokesman for Ryan immediately responded to requests for comment.”
you can tell how shaken up the left is...
I wouldn’t sign anything about this from this Cong unless it takes a huge chunk out of their Deep State ass.
Thes clowns couldn’t get it done for amnesty when Duh Pelosi Dems held Cong and Bush was for it. The didn;t get it done when Obama had the House and Senate. A fat chance they could do it now.
Dang, typed to fast....typos.
Including the Republican ones as well.
AG Sessions is still alive?
I joke you only!
Go Team Trump!
No to Paul Ryan and the uniparty, deepstate tards!
Until Ryan and McConnell work a deal with the RATs to pass a bill.
Or like another freeper said until a Judge steps in and stops it.
However, Trump has just put the GOP and RATs in States Trump won
in an bad position. They will have to vote for a bill that will be very
unpopular with Americans. And in an election year, that could be bad
news for DC Swamp creatures.
And if Trump vets the bill, they will have a hard time overcoming his veto.
And that means they will have to vote twice against American workers.
I like it. I love it. I want some more of it.
Trump should sign a DACA amnesty bill in exchange for full funding for the border wall and anything else he can get. Letting these 800K or maybe up to 3 million (depending on which count is accurate) anchor babies in should not be given as a gift to the UniParty.
Yep, it’s eventually going to go away like the Dodo. It’s all about how and when.
Well, they HAVE been doing that for quite some time ...

WH still leaking?
Pubbies and dems will come together and make it veto proof to let DACA be legal....TRUMP can say he kept his promise, dems can tell their base what they did and the pubbies will get slaughtered at the ballot box..I hope...
How is it a six month delay ending it? In the next six months, some way will be found to extend it. Why not just be honest?
...
Maybe he wants to use it for negotiating leverage.
He may be a man of his word, let’s see if his staff actually does it. Ref: Cross dressers in the military.
Yeah, this is punting. Six months of squish, and slop, and histrionics from Ryan, McConnell, McCain, The Harpy Girls of the Senate, MSM, Pelosi, Schumer. Plenty of sad stories in NYT, and WaPo. No way is this ending it.
