The Trump administration on Thursday announced it has chosen four companies to build concrete prototypes of the presidents much-touted border wall.
Construction of the prototypes, to take place in San Diego, is the first step in fulfilling Trumps campaign promise of building a big, beautiful wall stretching along the 2,000-mile Mexico border.
Today we mark a significant milestone, said Ronald Vitiello, acting deputy commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
But there appears to be a lack of political will to fund a continuous barrier. Congress has set aside $20 million in the current budget to build the prototypes but has not appropriated any other money for the wall.
The four companies are: Caddell Construction in Montgomery, Alabama, Fisher Sand and Gravel/DBA Fisher Industries in Tempe, Arizona, Sterling Construction in Houston, and W.G. Yates & Sons Construction in Philadelphia, Mississippi.
The administration was originally expected to announce its decision on prototypes in June, but the contracting process was delayed after protests from two companies that had not made the list of finalists....

This is that wall that other lying outlets say he’s decided not to build?
All Trump has to do is announce he will not sign a CR, expects a real budget, and that budget must contain money for the wall AND for the 350 ship Navy.
And then sit tight and sign nothing else. For as long as it takes.
There is NO WAY this dysfunctional, corrupt Congress can manage to come up with 2/3 majority to pass anything without him.
Interesting to see Traitor McCain fight this with an AZ company in contention.
Hope they are on-site prototypes about 10 miles each.....................
Scumbag GOP slime don’t want the wall built and will fight it as hard as the libtards.
Nike should buy advertising. JUST DO IT.
4 companies can build a 100-mile long prototype, and show how different vendors can connect their structures, to make it a 400-mile start.
There you go! Just tell the dummies in Congress all he wants is funding for prototypes...100 mile-long prototypes! THe wall would be built before they realized they’d been had.
I hope all four of these construction companies are braced and ready for the Liberals belching fire at them on Twitter and other media. These companies will be vilified, demonized, pleaded with, Doxed, warned, threatened and maybe worse!
Gird your corporate loins and let the ‘haters’ hate.
It’s what they do.
The Navy’s problems won’t be solved by more ships.
I want to help design it. It needs to include a moat with crocodiles, scorpions and mambas.
We need a calender year fiscal year. Enough of this funding the gov’t in Sept.
Trump must find alternative funding. Congress will NEVER fund the wall.never.
Don’t you be bringing them mambas here to the US, no gaboon vipers either.
Be cool to see McCain buried INSIDE the wall like Jimmy Hoffa was put into the Meadowlands.
Throw Pelosi in there too.
You’re expressing my concern. Their HQs will be picketed, vandalized and possibly worse. Their top managers’ homes will likely be attacked as well. They better up security. And the site where the prototypes are being built better be highly secured.
Probably 4 nazi companies!!!
I want none of this, of course, but if I can imagine it, other have already done the same. I expect the area will need to be swept for concealed explosives on a regular, unpublicized basis.
Some companies may pull out of consideration, because they never imagined a fellow American coming at them in such a barbaric manner. Others may start off more realistically. These will not be your Grandparents protesters down at City Hall, inconsequentially chanting slogans, singing “We Shall Overcome” off key and complaining about neglected potholes.
