Yes, it was a flaw. A severe, awful flaw.

Many in the Founding Era - much more than half the important people, by my count - tried to build in a process to bring it to an end, but cost and demographics made it extremely difficult.

There are some slaveowners in the history books whom I do not forgive, there are others I think we must.

It’s not as black-and-white an issue as the left would have us believe.

Thank you for your excellent analysis. I shall attempt to diagnose the problem and think of a solution.

The problem is the media’s distraction from the rule of reason and the guidance of the Gospels. Look at the statues!

The solution is for city, county, state and federal political leaders to take their oaths seriously. Look at the Constitution!

Your analysis is strong and clear while the media’s distractions are weak and fuzzy.
