Trump predicts Bannon will be a ‘tough and smart new voice’ outside White House

“Steve Bannon will be a tough and smart new voice at @BreitbartNews... maybe even better than ever before,” Trump tweeted. “Fake News needs the competition!”

(TWEET-AT-LINK)

Bannon returned to work late Friday as executive chairman at Breitbart News and chaired its evening editorial meeting Friday, the site said.

The former adviser, who had a rocky 12-month tenure with Trump, said he plans to go “to war” for the president in his outside role.

“If there’s any confusion out there, let me clear it up: I’m leaving the White House and going to war for Trump against his opponents -- on Capitol Hill, in the media, and in corporate America,” Bannon told Bloomberg on Friday.

Earlier Saturday, the president made his first public comments about Bannon’s departure from the White House.

“I want to thank Steve Bannon for his service,” Trump tweeted Saturday morning. “He came to the campaign during my run against Crooked Hillary Clinton -- it was great! Thanks S.”(continued)

From the comments of some of the people here on FR the left’s strategy of dividing the pro-Trumpers is starting to work.

“Trump is no longer his own man.

Trump is now owned by the Progressive wing of the Republican Party.”

Do you people ever get tired of being wrong?

We get it. It’s a wonderful troll to run. Playing the overly-emotional twit to get attention. Predicting doom and gloom for the lols.

But you know what? You sound like an idiot, and you really ought to find a new schick, because no one here is not going to vote for Trump based on your PMS. We’ve gotten more than our money’s worth, and he is only 6 months in. So he has nothing to worry bout in 2020, even if retards like you who didn’t vote for him last year, STILL dont vote for him.

So run along and use your Sunday for something other than play-acting.

The Nation’s moral decay and the forces of Evil, on full-fledged display, is more shocking than I could have ever imagined in my lifetime.

More than his Presidency, Trump is fighting for OUR very survival - the Chaos promoted by the Left and the Author of Evil is a powerful Foe.

No one man can overcome it. “If my people, pray !”

HaHaHaHa
Trump’s ideas about making America great have been essentially the same since 1990. Bannon worked on his campaign AUG. 17, 2016,less than 3 months before the election. You want to pull the other leg now?

No one owns Trump, that is why he is taking so much flack. Instead of adding to the angst why not fight for him by spreading truths not chicken little stories?

You don’t seem to be looking at the big picture. Bannon had become divisive and he couldn’t really accomplish his mission because he wasn’t able to act freely. He was a distraction. Now he can attack the left freely from a second front and advance Trump’s agenda.

“Walking the halls of power” spare me. More like surrounded by serpents striking from all sides and unable to defend because of positional constraints. Viola, no constraints.

I don't think the "strategy of dividing the pro-Trumpers strategy is starting to work". Not many of us supporters liked that President Trump had been manipulated to speak against AG Sessions, his most faithful and effective supporter during the campaign. We drew a line, and Trump began to return to the Deplorable agenda. We're a bit skeptical after that, but I think most are still on board.

I say this because the anti-Trumpers have over-reached with trying to change the meaning of what Trump said in that "contentious" press conference(ie: press shouting rude and inappropriate questions at what was supposed to be about infrastructure initiatives). Never-Trumpers over-reached by a lot with tearing down statues.

Deplorables are on board. Our challenge is keeping President Trump away from swampthing influences.

The only role I can envision for Bannon is to lead winning in a few targeted primaries.

The only role I can envision for ANYONE to lead winning is in a few targeted parimaries.

My hypothesis is that Trump gets it but wants to wait on the MB issue until after other things are achieved and more settled. Limiting his warfronts. McNasty may come in handy currently with the Nork situation so perhaps he can bide his time. Perhaps he does have the final say on foreign policy. Perhaps he can try to listen to these globalists before making more changes on down the road...

http://dailycaller.com/2017/08/11/report-on-mcmaster-report-proves-fired-staffer-right/

“Everything the president wants to do, McMaster opposes. Trump wants to get us out of Afghanistan—McMaster wants to go in. Trump wants to get us out of Syria—McMaster wants to go in. Trump wants to deal with the China issue—McMaster doesn’t. Trump wants to deal with the Islam issue—McMaster doesn’t. You know, across the board, we want to get rid of the Iran deal—McMaster doesn’t. It is incredible to watch it happening right in front of your face. Absolutely stunning.”

“Finally, the report flags Linda Weissgold, whom McMaster tried to hire but whom President Trump personally overruled, and who “authored the Obama administration’s infamous Benghazi “talking points”—which falsely blamed a video for triggering the Benghazi attacks, instead of blaming radical Islamist terrorist groups responsible for them.””

No constraints, and now little power. Bannon is once again Chairman of Breitbart News. True enough, he can say more there (publicly) than he could as White House Chief Strategist.

But Breitbart now preaches to the choir. Who listened when Bannon the White House Chief Strategist spoke? Well, that would be everybody. Even the Prime Minister of Singapore would pay attention.

Who will listen when Bannon the Chairman of Breitbart News speaks? Breitbart readers. And maybe Freepers readers if someone here links the story.

Perhaps something very strategic is going on here. But if so, I don’t see it. It seems spin to say anything other than Bannon has lost a lot of influence.

I bet primaries have do a lot to do with this.
Very difficult for the head of the Party to actively oppose incumbents in primaries, like he’s doing to Flake. Yet he needs something to hold over RINOs like the Tuesday Group.

I see your point but I don’t remember Bannon using his position as White House strategist to speak more than once or twice.

This move by Gannon was likely orchestrated. He’s probably bored with the Whitehouse minutiae by now. Bringing in Kelly made for too many bulls in the pasture anyway.

Since Bannon is no longer on Trump's payroll, he is free to do a variety of things that he would have otherwise been constrained from doing.

The strategy: Bannon can go rip a lib or never-Trumper with impunity, and without association of "The Trump Administration."
