So at what point do conservatives start demanding that liberals stop calling "Nazisim" a "far right" ideology? After all, it refers to "National Socialism" and the last I checked, "socialism" is LEFT.
The so-called "right" demands more individual freedom and more liberty and more private property, not less. Conservatives are NOT collectivists in any way shape, or form, always and forever.
But back to this wikipedia page... Liberals always want us to curb our language... so when can we start curbing theirs?
Just askin ....
“Far right” was a trick google did a couple years back.
Communists and Nazis want MORE government control.
Conservatives (traditionally called ‘liberals’ ironically enough) want LESS government control.
Hitler viewed himself and his part as Socialist (hence the name). He was, however, adamantly opposed to Bolshevism which he felt was a Jewish conspiracy.
Collectivism is the key word. The Bolsheviks, the German Nazis and the Italian Fascists were all collectivists and they all came directly out of the tradition of socialism.
American Conservatives support the US Constitution and our tradition of individual worth and personal responsibility in a society with LIMITED government.
We are not them.
Of course, to control the vocabulary, you need to control the media and the schools.
And this is why open-sourced references are worthless and never allowed in real discussion or papers....
It was Stalin who called the Nazis “Right Wing”. The Communist front groups in the West repeated the new Stalin-approved definition.
One can be to the right of Stalin and still be FAR to the left.
Not while they own the media.
When Conservatives gain control of the MSM.
Next question?
“The party on the left is now the party on the right”
Fact is, right in one country may be left in another. They are just labels.
It’s looking like the leader of the white supremist group in Charlotte is a known left winger in the US who was a participant in Occupy Wall street and an Obama supporter - and pretty much agreed with everything on the left’s opinion list.
> it refers to “National Socialism” and the last I checked, “socialism” is LEFT <
The Left believes in a strong central government, with many rules and regulations. The individual serves the society.
The Right believes in a weak central government, with few rules and regulations. Personal freedoms are cherished.
So which view is more National Socialist?
Only real difference between NAZIs and Communists were one had a nationalistic POV and the other was Global.
But socialism is not visible in any of the material a progressive person sees about NAZIsm.
Any party calling themselves ‘Socialists’ are far left of me and most people I care about.
The terms "Left" and "Right" have their origins in the French Revolution. The Monarchists sat on the right of the assembly, the Republicans (anti-monarchists) on the Left.
The definitions of "Left" and "Right" are not based on collectivism vs. individualism or liberty vs. tyranny. The Right supports traditional social institutions, the Left seeks to overthrow them. If you adopt this (original and correct) definition of Left and Right, then you realize that you can have totalitarian/authoritarian movements on both the Left and the Right just as you can have both Left and Rightwing anarchist/libertarian movements.
Possibly when the Nazis stop considering themselves right wing?
Wiki is fast and easy. Just like google.
Please dont use the encyclopedia that literally anyone can edit as fact. Remember how neat it felt to find the teachers answer sheet? Remember how F-ed up it was to find out it was a plant and you had been suckered?
..And Google? Thats just giving everything out right to the enemy. You could use it against them but any legitimate use is only telegraphing your intentions to the enemy.
