Correct. The minimum wage is a starter wage only for young people,
like the 60 year old Walmart greeter,
or the career waitress over a 30 year period,
or the career janitor.
Again conservatives fail to make the proper case.
The issue is Big Fat Government churns out low wage jobs through taxes. So quit defending poor wages as they are NOT the product of capitalism.
If you now grasp that, please move to the head of the class.
The 60 year old Walmart greeter hasn’t done that job for 40 years. Each one has their own story and many of those stories involve people who do that to get out of the house and socialize. The healthiest, happiest people I know that are 70 and over still do some kind of work.
A career waitress is usually a GOOD waitress and brings in a LOT more than minimum wage.
Janitors can make a decent buck depending on where they are employed. School districts and big companies pay them much more than minimum wage.
Your line about government churning out jobs through taxes makes ZREO SENSE.
