n 2016, researchers stumbled on a radical tactic for reducing another persons bigotry: a frank, brief conversation.
The study, authored by David Broockman at Stanford University and Joshua Kalla at the University of California Berkeley, looked at how simple conversations can help combat anti-transgender attitudes. In the research, people canvassed the homes of more than 500 voters in South Florida. The canvassers, who could be trans or not, asked the voters to simply put themselves in the shoes of trans people to understand their problems through a 10-minute, nonconfrontational conversation. The hope was that the brief discussion could lead people to reevaluate their biases.

The last lunar landing occurred long before I was born.
In turn, I will not accept the blame of Slavery or Segregation because those institutions were long gone by the time I came.
The conversation I want to be in regarding transgenderism:
Trans/Supporter: “Transgenders are uncomfortable being forced to disrobe in front of others of their biological sex.”
Me:”Non-transgendered are uncomfortable being forced to disrobe in front of biologically other-sexed people.”
Trans/Supporter:”But you need to understand, transgendered people have suffered more...”
Me: (Cutting idiot off) “No, YOU need to understand that any ‘right’ you claim that requires others to deny themselves their own rights is not a ‘right’ at all.”

Game, set, match!
I am not comfortable around ‘transgendered’ people. I think it is a crime that people have decided to ignore the personality disorder and pretend that all is right. I am extremely sickened by parents who encourage this disorder in their young children. I think that some young children experiment in their minds with alternatives, but if it is not encouraged, they will accept their status. There is NO SCIENCE that pretends that anyone can change their gender. Every cell (except your eggs or sperm) has your gender there, plain as day. Period. And no matter how hard you may wish it different, you cannot change every cell in your body.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for stating that so clearly.
Long article about what researchers say is the right way to talk to (”message”) those “white racists”. I’d bet there is research on how to communicate with gorillas and the author would think it’s the same thing.
No effort to actually talk to those whites (racist Trump voters) the author despises and see if the researchers are right. And nothing about listening to them - only about changing THEIR minds, not MY mind.
The whole premise of the study, starting out, was the typical leftist approach to any “discussion” about bigotry.
“You’re a bigot. Now grovel before us.”

I figured out which sites don’t allow comments (usually liberal ones, you know, the ones that are not comfortable with challenges to what they say), and have decided to not allow them to profit from my clicks.
Certain behaviors are rightfully shunned by civilized and sane people. It is not wrong to discriminate against the criminal, the predatory, the destructive, or the mentally ill. That discrimination can range from outright violence against them to sequestering them where they can do no harm to themselves and others.
But the notion that being enlightened means drawing no distinction between right and wrong does not advance civilization. It predicts its demise.
Transgenderism is a fiction, a mental illness trying very hard to legitimize itself. It is to our eternal discredit if we let it.
Freakity Freak Freak.
Absent name-calling, the Left has nothing.
Racial bias is somewhat different than gender bias. It is basic self preservation that leads us to hold definitive biases against thugs who dress and use their own language dialects to advertise the fact they are dangerous (i.e. Mugging or knockout gamers). Also Hispanic youth who tattoo their bodies excessively with menacing themes can also be avoided on pain of death literally. All others can be approached as individuals and judged on their own merits.
Gender bias is a harder bias to approach. Maybe a rule of thumb to adhere to our bias against people who get in your face and who threaten your personal morality might be a starter. Actually I hold a strong bias against a lot of whites based on their individual and group behavior. It’s called self preservation.
There were plenty of white Christian people against slavery and segregation at the time it was happening. Liberal are dim and try to sort complex situations into one size fits all boxes. People had to be quiet about it because the Democrats’ KKK would attack n-—— lovers. If whites had supported slavery and segregation, it would still be in place.
good idea
It’s how those snowflakes with tender feelings can live with themselves. Daily.
What does this have to do with race?
I think I see the problem...................
