She IS something of a “trial balloon”, perhaps, at this point. She WILL be the Dem candidate 2020. Is there really any question about it? And I think she will be quite the formidable candidate and most probably win. 0bama II.
Mike Huckabee was never close to acquiring the nomination and he would not have won anything IMHO.
If trump is successful she will run in 2024. They will dig up Biden or sacrifice Warren to challenge a hot incumbent.

While I am quite certain that Harris will be the 2020 nominiee of the Democratic Party and have stated so on this forum many, many times, and I do agree she should be a formidable candidate, I would not say necessarily that she would probably win. Obama represented lightning in a bottle at just the right time. If the economy is doing well, and international hotspots have simmered down, Trump will be difficult to beat. Repeating the Obama miracle will take more than skin color. Like sequels that never repeat the success of the original film, running the same script over and over in politics does not always pan out.
