President Trump’s new FBI nominee has been announced. Christoper Wray, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on July 12, 2017. He confirmed he would do his job without partisan political influence in response to the first question of the hearing.
Frankly, what I seek from the new FBI Director is the desire to go after Hillary Clinton and James Comey – to get them – and get them good! I would not trust anyone like James Comey. But many of Wray’s colleagues say he is unlike Comey. President Trump has called Comey a “showboat,” and I think he is right on target.
Monique Roth, who served as Wray’s senior counsel at the Justice Department says, “he’s not one of those grandstanders or ego-drive people. He’s very self-effacing and thoughtful….he’s just a very regular guy with a big heartl.”
Sounds like a good man, but he has to be independent enough to take on the Deep State who is protecting Comey and Clinton!? Is he the kind of person to take on the most abused job in Washington? How will he handle himself walking into the Russian probe situation? Would he be wise enough to see it for what it is? Just as President Trump said, it is nothing but a “witch hunt!”

I trust no one in Washington. Hell six months ago I would have told you Jeff Sessions would make a good AG. When I see rat felons indicted I’ll believe. I assume he will be more swampy than not.

This is the usual tactic we see from the Deep State to get the presidential nominee to separate himself from a Republican Executive Branch, and this goes doubly with Trump in the White Hut.
Wray you are not totally independent from your boss the President, which goes for any other presidential appointee. He can still legally and Constitutionally direct you Wray.
The FBI is NOT independent. They full under the Attorney General, and his direct supervisor is the president. The President can order an investigation, or he can stop one.
This is disgusting, this open discussion that the FBI should be independent of the president. They are not a 4th branch of government. They are not a watchdog over the presidency. This is banana republic stuff.
As Dershowitz said, how does the idea that the president supposedly cannot order the activities of DOJ, square with the FACT that he could pardon anyone of any federal crime? He is the ultimate law enforcement agent of the federal government.
If a president does something unethical in dropping an investigation, the answer is found in impeachment, NOT in an FBI that is beyond his reach.
Also this nominee has never spent a day in law enforcement. Another damned lawyer. Some will argue that a US attorney is “law enforcement”. That makes as much sense as calling a cop an attorney.
What did you expect him to tell them, that I’m gonna be Trump’s bitch because Comey was Obama’s bitch?

I didn’t realize the FBI director’s direct superior wasn’t the AG until all this nonsense started. I think it may even be the third in charge at the AG office. Comey had no standing to declare Hillary innocent unless his direct superior told him to do it. The idea that an FBI director has his own empire without accountability is absurd..
