It's actually "worse" than that. The theory is that getting information from a foreign national, that is beneficial to a campaign, is an election crime. Therefore, agreeing to meet with a foreign national for the purpose of getting information beneficial to a campaign is consipracy to commit the crime. There is no need to conduct the meeting, or to get the information, or to talk with the foreign national at all.

Trump Jr is a great patriot and of course innocent of having done anything wrong here. What is clear is how far the Fusion whatever gang, no doubt commissioned by our own CIA/Deep State/Democrat/globalist mob to set the campaign up, just as they did with the Russian dossier.

Not only should he not be trying Clinton through the press—because that means he’s not trying her (or likely Comey or whoever else) through his DoJ and the court system, but also because that means he continues to avoid instead using the bully pulpit to see that the Senate actually repeal Obamacare and Congress cut taxes. Moreover, to target Hillary now that they are coming after Jr, after having toasted Hillary and Bill with praise at his inauguration, just looks bad. Looks like a “they do it too!” defense, which isn’t a good look.

He needs to go on the offense in four ways:

1) focus publicly on Obamacare repeal,
2) go after all this network of actual, illegal collusion against his campaign through the courts,
3) have his PR team get the countering word out publicly, and
4) purge his admin of all the GOPe and Dem stooges that Jivanka convinced him to hire.

As I posted earlier in another thread:

The notion that Donald, Jr. did something wrong, now being promoted by the Trump haters, seems particularly ridiculous, when one recalls Obama's open mike incident in 2012.

Tactical suggestion: Every time anyone, in conversation, in online posting, in personal correspondence, electronic or in print--wherever!--always couple any discussion with a reminder of Obama's perfidious comment & also reference to Hillary's dealings with Russia & other foreign nations, where it was not simply a matter of a harmless search for information. Also remind anyone being addressed, that Donald Jr., did not offer to compromise American interests in any way. (Obama & Mrs. Clinton, on the other hand . . .!)

We need to take the offensive. It is precisely in the willingness to compromise America's true interests, that the Trump Haters find their common interest. The President's inspiring speech in Warsaw articulated the values that the haters mean to undermine, as demonstrated by their actions over & over again, since the inauguration of Bill Clinton.
