Feckless GOP - Big Picture
07/11/17 | Vanity

Lack of results, my view - those voted to go to DC neither write, read, or fully understand what they are voting on. Thus they cannot, will not, market for them either. Our 'real' system is that we vote for representives that merely vote 'yes' or 'no' on items that they did not write or fully understand. Unelected jacka**es create the policies so our elected bobbleheads can vote yes or no. In my view, they are dim witted pawns that are merely placeholders for the deep state bureaucrats that are truly running this country. This election proves that the GOP pawns never had any intention of repealing (big government) Obamacare. The deep state wants big government. The GOP only wants to be re-elected. Rant over :)

A lot of legislative language comes from lobbyists

We vote for actors. The real power is necessarily hidden from the public, because if the public knew how it was being screwed, it would revolt.

I've said for a looonnnggg time that it is time for a new party to be formed that will be accountable to the voters, and I've seen nothing to make me change my mind since Trump was elected. Excluding Trump, the GOP is a lost cause as they clearly have nothing (or little) in common with their party platform. The Democrats are a mix of socialists and communists, yet the GOP tries to find "middle ground" with these nutcases. This just shows the apparent stupidity of the people leading the GOP - I say apparent because I'm assuming that they don't actually agree with Democrats, but maybe they do behind closed doors.

I don’t even think they want to be re-elected.

I think they want to purposely throw both of their majorities to the dems and let them impeach Trump after 2018.

Any new party that is formed is going to be immediately infiltrated by these Swamp Critters and destroyed from within, just as the tea Party was.

In the end, there is only going to be one way to deal with the damned Swamp.

They have a completely different agenda.

I disagree. Most of them are attorneys, who would understand legal documents. People get attorneys to write letters for them all the time. They know how to write contracts - law. It is something else, something more sinister.

I agree with your assessment. What I meant by ‘not understanding’ the legislation refers to the ‘value’ of the legislation, not the language. These pawns have no clue what the real problems are or how to fix them. For example, the problem with healthcare is costs, not coverage. How does the free market control costs? By adding competition and unveiling prices charged. No consumer has a clue how much each doctor charges for a flu shot or sewing stitches because insurance pays that bill. That is a problem especially if the government pays that bill.
