Vanity - Trump's Conservatism
Self | 7/3/17 | Self

Posted on 07/03/2017 9:34:17 AM PDT by Moe-Patrick

It seems that Trump's actions are more conservative than those of actual Conservatives. Cutting cost, de-regulations, asking for an ACA repeal, shrinking EPA, supporting Christiananity, helping vets, backing the military, addressing illegals and sanctuary cities, investigating voter fraud, budget cuts, cutting waste and fraud, calling out propaganda media, etc. And yet, the so-called conservatives that fought for Obamacare repeal every election don't have the courage to do that now. Nor do they publicly back Trump. Who's the real conservative here? I prefer Trumps conservative actions over any conservative mouth piece. For the hand wringers and pearl clutchers, Trump is fighting many enemies, including conservatives. Wars are never poised and polite. And all of the conservative actions listed above, conservatives never really wanted.

Perfection is the enemy of Good. Trump isn’t Perfect. But he is Good.

When Trump said he was going to build a wall, he was more conservative than any “conservative”.

Like Trump said the republican politicians are all talk and no results. And that includes the self proclaimed conservatives. Between 1988 & 2017, what exactly have the conservative CAREER politicians achieved?

Crickets!

The difference between Trump and elected conservatives?

Trump is not beholden to campaign donors.

Yuge difference.

As I have said...Trump knew...to get elected conservatives have to Campaign to the Left...then when in office, govern to the Right...opposite of Dems who campaign to Right then Govern to Left.

First and foremost, Donald Trump is not a politician. That itself makes him better suited to fight these battles than anyone else in Washington.

When Trump said he would be in favor of protective tariffs he was more Conservative than any Republican has been for the last 50 years.

President Trump did NOT campaign to the LEFT ... He campaigned against the political class that treats ‘we the people’, like second class citizens.

Why vanity? Trump may be a REAL conservative. Others like the Bushes, the Doles were faux conservatives-talked a big game. He tricked them into thinking HE’S NOT ONE OF THEM. Turns out he’s the real deal.

It was interesting to see Trump during the primaries and beyond through today expose the GOP as a total fraud, and everyone in it.

There isn’t a single actual conservative official in the GOP.

They are all pretenders, they have achieved nothing, and the party platform is total horseshit.

Almost all “conservatives” in congress are “single-issue representatives”.
That issue is: getting re-elected.

They are convinced that their primary issue (re-election) requires
1) Being moderate and even liberal in legislation to avoid losing votes
2) Doing what donors want to get money to fool voters (since their record doesn’t “win”)

There are also a lot of “conservatives” in congress, media, and other roles in DC who think they know best (they have “democrat ego disorder”). “The proper role of government”, “individual freedom”, and and other ideas that should be the basis for any conservative policy have fallen by the wayside.

If they can find a way to provide health insurance to the entire country for “the minimum” cost, it’s a brilliant idea in their minds - way better than what anyone else has come up with. It doesn’t matter if “the minimum cost” will bankrupt us. Or if that’s not a proper role for government to provide insurance. They figured out how to do something better than ANYONE else and they want to push their idea. And they’ll explain at length how their brilliant idea is actually “conservative” without touching on basics like “the proper role of government”.

Conservatism like Republican and democrat are elite closed clubs that have written rules and bureaucratic structure.

Like all bureaucracies they tend toward self preservation over actually getting anything done. The so called Conservative intelligentsia are do nothing academics who self promoted themselves to the position of ultimate arbitrators of what and what is not Conservative. POTUS DJT is a pragmatist and a patriot who just happens to share most of his values with conservative elite who guard the doors of the conservative plantation.

I do need a nap, but to your point......my statement was geared toward folks like Ann Coulter who will not relent until the wall is finished and every illegal is gone. I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of actions vs. words when it comes to those critical of Trump. I believe you misinterpreted my post - just the opposite of what Ann Coulter has been wringing her hands about the last month. And you’re right, she does need an intervention.
