Islamist terrorism may threaten the Western world, but Canadas Parliament is more concerned with Islamophobia.
Last month, Canadian lawmakers debated a motion put forward by a Liberal member of Parliament part of the governing party to condemn Islamophobia and study its effect on society. Though a number of Conservative MPs have pledged to vote against it later this year, the motion, M-103, is guaranteed to pass.
The motions sponsor, MP Iqra Khalid, said we need to quell the increasing public climate of hate and fear. Khalid has called for a whole of government approach on the matter, which includes analyzing data surrounding hate crimes, singling out those against Muslims.
A similar motion was passed unanimously in Ontarios provincial legislature last month. Though a number of legislators were conspicuously absent, no one stood up to vote against the pledge to recognize the significant contributions Muslims have made and rebuke the notable growing tide of anti-Muslim rhetoric and sentiments. No list of Muslim accomplishments was provided, nor evidence that anti-Muslim bigotry is running rampant. Even the Conservatives in the chamber were urged by their leader to support the motion, lest they all look like bigots.

The worthy parliamentarians are confusing the cause and the effect here. And that’s the kindest interpretation of their motives.
Most people in this country really do not understand that people in other countries do not have freedom of speech. People who do not travel think other countries are just like us. Perhaps there should have been more attention paid to the story, IIRC it was last week, about Canada deciding ‘using the wrong pronoun in addressing anyone can be prosecuted’. You only have to read the Mark Steyn/Michael Mann story to realize that, even our closest neighbor, isn’t ANYTHING like our country. And the great majority here don’t appreciate our freedoms enough.
I agree.
People are not aware how unique and special our 1A is ... and why it needs to be protected at all cost.
So Islam rules Canada. How do Canadians feel about that?
Since a phobia is an unfounded or unwarranted fear and it is neither unwarranted nor unfounded to fear a system which wants you subjugated, enslaved or dead if you decline to embrace it, Islamophobia does not exist.
Wise up, Canada.
Getting beheaded by Muslims will, in the end, be the only fighting Islamophobia that Islam will accept. The “moderate” and “liberal” Muslims will keep silent, even if it’s only to keep their necks from the chop.
