Rand Paul is proposing limited coverage for $1 a day. Brilliant idea. It will destroy the media narrative that people will “lose” their healthcare coverage.

I wasn't a big fan of Rand Paul in the 2016 campaign, mainly because I didn't think he was a credible candidate with a real chance to win the election -- but with every passing week it seems like I find another reason to like him more and more.

Senator Paul is instantly credible on this issue because of his background as a medical doctor. But what makes him even more credible is that he was an ophthalmologist who specialized in corneal transplants and laser surgery. This meant he was dealing with some medical procedures that were covered by insurance companies, and some that were not. The ones that are not covered have typically gotten LESS expensive over time.
