I bet someone found this video laying in the sand...because the convoy is just sitting there.

I hope so.
We better not be doing this now.

Unfortunately, we have to do much of our own journalism these days to verify (or debunk) stuff that is out there.
Hoping someone here can verify or debunk.

// Trump was correct when he said that we had no idea who we were supplying weapons to. We don’t //

My favorite LOLs was when CIA-armed rebels were fighting Pentagon-armed rebels.

Yes, it is an old video. Yes with peaked sandpiles on right and left of turn. It is an ISIS propaganda film. Think I saw it about the time they were moving forces from Iraq to Syria. I’ve seen it before.

First time I tried to view it with my cell phone it crashed my player. Got error message. probably malicious.

Then I viewed the video on Alex Jones, prison planet crap.

Nothing suggests anything other than phony ISIS propaganda film.

US Working to Prevent ‘Iranian victory’ in Syria

http://m.gulfnews.com/news/mena/syria/us-working-to-prevent-iranian-victory-in-syria-1.2041807

“There, a complex confrontation is unfolding, with far more geopolitical import and risk. Daesh [ISIS] is expected to make its last stand not in Raqqa but in an area that encompasses the borders with Iraq and Jordan and much of Syria’s modest oil reserves, making it important in stabilising Syria and influencing its neighbouring countries.

“Whoever lays claim to the sparsely populated area in this 21st-century version of the Great Game not only will take credit for seizing what is likely to be Daesh’s last patch of a territorial caliphate in Syria, but also will play an important role in determining Syria’s future and the post-war dynamics of the region.”

Vehicles from Raqqa could not convoy South - the bridges across the Euphrates River were dropped a few months back. The last ground route available was the smaller dam to the West, which was only captured a couple of weeks ago.

As the US-supported SDF continues to capture areas south of the river near Raqqa, convoys could evacuate from there.

Also, ISIS convoys of vehicles could come from other areas, to evacuate ISIS soldiers who cross the river in small boats, or swim. Aircraft have been interdicting boats around there for some time, and big ferries for vehicles were among the first to go.

Now it is hard for them to leave en masse, but some could have played it safe by getting South of the river before it was completely cut, and have only recently decided to abandon the area for safer ground.

There absolutely was some deliberate evacuation of key personnel and assets by ISIS as the noose was closing on Raqqa - their last stronghold is about 100 miles of Euphrates River Valley from Deir ez Zour to the Iraqi border (al Tanf/Abu Kamal border crossing near al Qaim in Iraq). Some may be attempting to head out of the country, to disperse internationally.

Most of the garrison left in Raqqa are likely to die there. The opportunity for a large scale retreat has passed.

If the primary missions were in Raqqa, they are unlikely to be retargeted to a target of opportunity until the primary objective is met.

In addition, it's much better to fight them in open country than block-by-block in Raqqa, so this may be another motive.

Not everything is at appears, especially when delivered through Iranian/Russian propaganda.

I’m sure the video is old. I’ve seen it before. It has nothing to do with current situations.

The ISIS crowd would not be cheering and smiling now. They would have their tails tucked under them sneaking by the next mile.

Thanks very much for the description. Appreciate it very much.

I suppose since the swamp has not been drained, these things happen.

Another geo-strategic consideration in Eastern Syria, is the establishment of a contiguous “Shia Crescent”, from Iran to the Mediterranean Sea.

With a Shia dominated Government in Baghdad, if the Assad Regime (now heavily indebted to Iran) controls that border, it opens the possibility of a pipeline from Iran toward European markets, as well as heavy weapon/missile delivery to Iranian-surrogate militias in Syria, Lebanon and on Israel’s border.

It is a (maybe the) major Iranian objective in this conflict.

War makes for strange bedfellows and behind the scenes drama. I can’t question the decision to let some Isis people go until I know what the reasoning was.
