See if your local gun shop will order some for you if you don’t want to purchase online. Other subsonic ammo is available in a smaller bullet. Also check local indoor shooting ranges that sell ammo.
Will be giddy with a full, POP!
“This .22 shortage remains a mystery to me. There is no seemingly logical reason for it. Sure, back when Imam Obama was threatening to go British on us, but it was pretty obvious all in his last year in office that Obama was nothing more than a bloviating lame duck.”
Once people have emotionally committed to believing in a conspiracy theory, it’s not about “logical reason” any more. They’ll generally keep believing in it until it can’t possible happen anymore (like when Obama wasn’t actually in office so their nightmare scenarios couldn’t happen anymore).

We are getting close.
Stopped by California Ranch Supply today.
Federal Champion 710 in bulk pack of 525 rounds at $24.95. That is less than 4.8 cents a round, on the shelf, in plentiful supply.
They had .22 CCI high velocity, copper washed, at 7.5 cents a round. Said they had no trouble getting it, no limits.
My local walley world has plenty of .22 on the shelf, even the local pawn/gun establishment has boxes of .22 on the shelf and prices are starting to ease down.
Years ago I had nearly 10K rounds of .22 until my oldest son and his two cousins got into it with their .22’s. One day my son comes in and says I need some .22 ammo where is it? I said on the usual shelf. No it’s gone, where is the other. What! I fortunately had squirreled away a couple of boxes in another spot. Now it is scattered throughout the house to keep the target shooting fests among the boys down.
It is easy to shoot other people’s ammo!
