Thank you for posting. Buchanan is dead on. Since the 60’s the Left (and the communists, their pals) have painted (using the conveniently re-constituted Indiana based 1925 Klan, who abused the Battle Flag of the Army of N. VA.)has driven racial divide for political reasons and the “solid” Democrat south. A South that continues to fight the overwhelming federal government and its abuses.

Essential to remove the “symbolism” of national leaders (like the former Commandant of West Point, R.E. Lee, still studied in warfare classes there), to erase history in the guise of “righting the wrong of... slavery” (a monumental conceit, sorry for the pun) to continue to keep the region... down. God forbid what would be the Progressive/communist’s reaction to a Convention of States to release the stranglehold of overbearing federal power (Amendment 17, for example). They fear this the most.

The South has to be broken of the vestiges of indepenence from the federal State. Next will come true Conservatives. Nothing to stand in the way of “yankee” (pardon my regionalism, but it does originate in the Harvard and Yale yards) Progressivism and their handmaidens, the marxists who have long used the race divide and union organizing on that basis to divide the entire country- not just the South.

Landrieu doesn’t stand a chance in hell of ever being anything more than what he is now. In the context of the coming changes for the next 8 plus years? Never will happen. But we can plan on the Left becoming more violent against our Republic.
