Americans are encouraged on a daily basis to revere the opinions of singers and actors, and to assume that these people know better than they do…How else could they be so successful?

I know this isn't the point of the article, but if you are physically attractive in America you have a 99% change of being successful. Generally speaking, the more physically attractive you are the more people will shower you with money and favor.
