The Media Blackout On The DNC Lawsuit Proves That It Is Nuclear
Medium ^ | 13 May 2017 | Caitlin Johnstone

Posted on 05/14/2017 8:25:06 PM PDT by Lorianne

I had the privilege of interviewing my newest personal hero yesterday, attorney Elizabeth Lee Beck, about her legal team’s fraud case against the Democratic National Committee. One of the many useful insights that this straight-shooting mom on fire brought to light during our conversation was her story about a time she reached out to New York Times reporter Michael Barbaro to get some help cracking through the deep, dark media blackout on this extremely important case. Barbaro had previously interviewed Beck and featured her in a front-page story not long ago, so she had every reason to try and contact him. What happened next?

Why is a journalist for the New York Times blocking a potential source from contacting him? Why is the mainstream media refusing to go anywhere near a legal case that has heavy implications for the future of American democracy? You already know the answer to this deep down, whether you’re the kind of person who turns and faces reality or the kind of person who dissociates from reality at all costs while watching Samantha Bee and chugging cough syrup on the sofa. The function of the mass media is not to inform the American public of important things that are happening in their country, it is to turn attention away from the important things that are happening in their country and to keep them sleepy and compliant. The DNC lawsuit is one of the greatest threats to America’s power establishment right now, but only if people know about it. If the corporate media were to advance this story with even a fraction of the intensity that they’re advancing their xenophobic anti-Russia nonsense, they’d start waking up the sleeping masses to the fact that there is nothing resembling democracy happening in America at all.

And the DNC’s own lawyers have indeed made it abundantly clear to anyone who’s been listening that there is no democracy in America. You cannot make the case that you are not required to provide real primary elections in a rigidly-enforced two-party system and still say that democracy is happening to any extent within your nation. Being forced to choose between two establishment-selected corporatists is not democracy, and this revolutionary lawsuit has been showing in no uncertain terms that this is exactly what is happening both in practice and in theory. In order to say that there is any sort of democratic process in America at all, there would have to either be a way to run viable independent and third-party candidates, or the people would have to be able to determine who the candidates will be for the two parties that they are permitted to choose from. Currently neither of those things is happening.

Political parties, not voters, choose their presidential nominees, a Republican convention rules member told CNBC, a day after GOP front-runner Donald Trump rolled up more big primary victories.

“The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That’s the conflict here,” Curly Haugland, an unbound GOP delegate from North Dakota, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Wednesday. He even questioned why primaries and caucuses are held.

‘Lawyers for the Democratic National Committee claim that the party has every right to pick presidential candidates in shady back-room deals and private negotiations, effectively ignoring the will of the voters, according to newly released transcripts from a federal court.

The transcripts are from a federal court in Florida hearing a lawsuit filed by Bernie Sanders supporters against the DNC and its former Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz for allegedly ‘rigging’ the democratic primaries for Hillary Clinton.

Lawyers for the National Committee argued that the charter of the Democratic party does not require ‘neutrality’ during the presidential primaries, saying impartiality is “a discretionary rule that it didn’t need to adopt to begin with.”’

What is the fraud? The party likely did what it was allowed to. The ethics and deceit of leadership is another matter entirely.

I just found the most insane yet illustrative rant over at the DUmp that depicts their fears and their Russianoia attack angle:

https://www.democraticunderground.com/10029047892

Extremely harsh for sensitive ears, as most of the DUmp is.

If Bernie is about to be revealed as wiretapped and sabotaged througout the primaries, this surprisingly candid assessment gives the blueprint for destroying the RATS within a month.

They certainly presented themselves as impartial.

If the charter does say they can be partial, the charter needs to be changed.

That was insane—cultish mind control at its most basic.

If someone tells you to look at the facts and the evidence, and use critical-rational thinking to evaluate them, just say, Russia Russia Russia.

If there was any need or intention for the DNC to be impartial, they wouldn’t use the Super-Delegate system. The whole purpose of Super-Delegates is to ensure that the DNC, not the voters, choose the candidate.

The OP outlined all their fissure/crack points. Notice the Bernie thing listed first. The Left just told us what they fear most here, and I intend to exploit the hell out of it.

DU is not the Left per se. They are Hillary’s most hardcore supporters. The wife of the guy who runs DU worked for Hillary. Skinner (owner of DU) actually set a deadline, after which no Bernie cheerleading or Hillary-critical posts would be permitted. Since then, DU has been 100% Hillary.

The Hillary faction of the Left has told you what they fear most. It’s safe to say the Bernie faction would see it differently.

And, the DNC has no intention of ever changing that super delegate system.

In a two party system it means that the Constitutional freedoms, that were America, are gone. The people have lost.

This is why backing Trump was so crucial. He was the genuine anti-Uniparty/anti-Establishment candidate. He’s our last hope, politically speaking.

Yes,the last third of this essay hits the real problem and is very well said, when it talks of the greatest danger of nuke war, the neocons.

Conclusion 3: the real danger to our common future

The real danger to our planet comes not from a sudden technological breakthrough which would make nuclear war safe, but from the demented filled minds of the US Neocons who believe that they can bring Russia to heel in a game of “nuclear chicken”. These Neocons have apparently convinced themselves that making conventional threats against Russia, such as unilaterally imposing no-fly zones over Syria, does not bring us closer to a nuclear confrontation. It does.

The Neocons love to bash the United Nations in general, and the veto power of the Permanent Five (P5) at the UN Security Council, but they apparently forgot the reason why this veto power was created in the first place: to outlaw any action which could trigger a nuclear war. Of course, this assumes that the P5 all care about international law. Now that the USA has clearly become a rogue state whose contempt for international law is total, there is no legal mechanism left to stop the US from committing actions which endanger the future of mankind. This is what is really scary, not “super-fuses”.

What we are facing today is a nuclear rogue state run by demented individuals who, steeped in a culture of racial superiority, total impunity and imperial hubris, are constantly trying to bring us closer to a nuclear war. These people are not constrained by anything, not morals, not international law, not even common sense or basic logic. In truth, we are dealing with a messianic cult every bit as insane as the one of Jim Jones or Adolf Hitler and like all self-worshiping crazies they profoundly believe in their invulnerability.

It is the immense sin of the so-called “Western world” that it let these demented individuals take control with little or no resistance and that now almost the entire western society lack the courage to even admit that it surrendered itself to what I can only call a satanic cult. Alexander Solzhenitsyn prophetic words spoken in 1978 have now fully materialized:

The fraud is clear on many levels.

Here are two easy ones:

1. The ballots are printed with choices, the primary voters are led to believe they are the choosers when in fact they are not allowed to choose.

2. The primary voters are asked to donate to the candidate of their choice to assure their choice is adequately financed and supported when in fact the money that is handed over is never intended to do such things.

In the first case, the actionable cause of action is fraudulent, deceptive advertising. In the second case, the financial support is solicited as a fraud.

The actual complaint is here:
