Human shield.
We love Tim Tebow here - even if he does play in the Mets organization - and were always happy to hear that something positive has happened in his career and in his life. So when ESPN re-upped with Tebow on his deal to be part of its college football studio offerings, we were nothing if not pleased. If Tebow wants to do TV while pursuing his baseball dreams, were all over it.
But we couldnt help but wonder: Does ESPN usually make such a big deal out of an existing talent re-signing? Because if one were inclined to be a little suspicious, one might almost suspect they had an ulterior motive in trumpeting this:
I wonder what this is about . . . huh.
He’s packing the stadiums where he plays.
Tokenism.
Might as well just pat him on the head and ask him to fetch some coffee.
ESPN is tanking. It has been a drag on Disney stock. ESPN management isn’t interested in sports as much as their social impact. They also no longer carry very many top level sporting events. To top it off they aren’t the only sports network anymore.
People watch sports for the purity of the sport. Sports display true human drama and extreme effort. They don’t watch sports or sports channels for social commentary. This is why Fox sports and NBC sports networks are eating their lunch.
Who cares,he is a positive and people love him.Push him all you want. This is good.
Or people watch sports as an escape from the constant crud thrown at us by corrupt politicians and corrupt media.
This is essentially ESPN President John Skipper’s attempt to stay relevant. And he’s failing pretty badly. It’s about to cost him his job and possibly the job of his boss Robert Iger, the CEO of Disney.
When I started out in the heyday of Cable Television - the late 1980’s. ESPN was at the top. They ruined themselves.
Handwriting, wall.
Disney Corp is a Leftwing, Progressive operation.
Don’t patronize corporations that piss in your shoes.
Their anti-Christian rip via Tebow, blew them out of the water. They don’t want to admit it, but they live in a nation with a high majority of Christians and other Americans who believe in religious freedom.
This is an attempt to overcome the truth about the character of ESPN revealed during their Tebow media crucifixion. The idiots went after his fans like they were bumpkins, too.
