This is the sickest State-sponsored attempt at Democrat Utopian Socialism
The City of Sacramento, under the short reign of former State Sen. Darrell Steinberg (D), now Sacramento Mayor, just approved free electric Zipcars for residents of Sacramentos public housing projects. Wow!
But dont worry taxpayers The program is funded through a $1.3 million grant from the California Air Resources Board using cap-and-trade funds that businesses pay to offset their carbon emissions, according to the Sacramento Bee. In other words, the money extorted from California businesses for the privilege of being allowed to continue doing business in this state, is paying for these free cars for people who dont work.
They will be destroyed in no time. Looted for the parts.
Zip car is a commercial operation. So the cars are not FREE. The state is paying for them. Where does the state get it’s money. From tax payers (or in this case “cap and trade”)
The question is who in Sacramento is getting the “consulting fee” for setting this deal up?
An observation. This program will end in failure. The cars will be vandalized, spay painted and parts stripped to be sold.
The state will end up paying zip car for the cars that can not be returned to them.
Guns are not a right-—but Zip cars are. My goodness, each day brings another idiotic growth of government.
Mexico’s millions of illegal aliens deserve these cars and more.
Pay up gringos.
Make California Mexico Again.
This is discrimination! Why are the poor given crappy little âzipâ cars. They should be given Mercedes. It is only by driving a Mercedes that the poor will have some self esteem.

Sounds like a great place to invest in a business.
Karl Marx HATED the middle class.
His entire aim was to take from the middle class and give it to the poor - making the middle and poor both poor.
And you middle class California Marxists keep voting for it. :)
It blows my mind all the time the taxes they get away with charging the working people in Los Angeles heck they even give the poor endless amounts of water and charge working with high rates
. They have extra money, millions of dollars they use for pet projects, helping each other good ole boys out.
last tax hike gave a pal of Jerry brown a contract. That money was supposed to go to fix the roads. Billions do not go to the roads.
One thing about these cap and trade taxpayer funded zip cars...the roads are so bad, how far will they be able to drive them?
Here you go, taxes that you might like.
While not an ideal business environment by any means, there are thousands of businesses doing very, very well in Sacramento and surrounding communities.

Maybe their minimum wages are too low.
$20 per hour would be fair.
Entry pay at McDonalds is $12-$15/hr.
Day labor for construction goes for $20-$25/hr.

With attribution to Janice Joplin - but in this case The Lord is now the State of Kalifornia, and the “worked hard” bit is gone...:^)
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz?
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a color TV?
Dialing For Dollars is trying to find me.
I wait for delivery each day until three,
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a color TV?
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a night on the town?
I'm counting on you, Lord, please don't let me down.
Prove that you love me and buy the next round,
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a night on the town?
Everybody!
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends,
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz?
That's it!
No one working in America should get less than $20 an hour!
We can afford $20 big MACs
