I was glad that you reminded me it was the big Soviet Victory Day. As it so happens, I live on Stralau across the Spree River from Treptower Park where the main memorial to Soviet soldiers who died in WW2 is. Putin was there at least one time placing flowers. I been to the memorial a few times, it’s impressive, and have past it a hundred times (Treptower Park is huge).
I always wanted to go visit there on the big day though. So after you reminded me, I was going out the door and my wife asked me: where are you going. I told her: out. She said: it’s raining. I said: darn just before there was sun. Turns out I didn’t go, because not only was there rain but it quickly got cold and dark.
Later the weather cleared. I got on my bicycle and went to the mall on the other side of the park at about 7pm when a lot of people speaking Russian were streaming out of the place. There was elderly gentleman playing what sounded like Russian music on an accordion that I never seen before. I stopped and dropped the 5 euros I was going to spend earlier on flowers for the memorial into his basket.
I’ll go next year! (it’s been like 9 years living here)
and have past it a hundred times
passed
I read they had speeches, food and music.

I got on my bicycle and went to the mallI wanted to get a fidget spinner but they didn't have any. :(
I resisted the temptation to buy ice cream and got yogurt.
